Algebra 1 B--Course Placement Exam

This test does not place you into your next course--I do. This test does inform my decision. If you've done poorly in this class up to this point--or you've been on the edge (getting C's)--now is the time to show me what you can do. These initial placements are fluid. We do them in order to be helpful to our local high schools; they need to have some idea about how many students there will be in each type of class. So, if you do well on this placement exam and then you stop working for me second semester, be assured your course placement will change. If you've had a rocky start and you demonstrate to me your turning over a new leaf, you may ask me to change your course placement and I will seriously consider your proposal.

Course Placement Concepts Covered
We will spend several days working on the practice problems in the review packet (attached to the right). Some of the concepts we've covered in this class I didn't put in the review--not because I think they are unimportant but because we've covered too much information in one semester to review it and test it within a week.

The current form of this test covers material up through chapter 10 of your textbook. Chapter 8 is not represented well due to time constraints on the test (I don't you to spend 15 minutes on 1 test problem).
